World Press Freedom Day

Today,3 May, is Constitution Day in Japan. But worldwide, today is World Press Freedom Day. This international anniversary was established in 1993 by UNESCO.

Especially, there are heated debate about the Beijing Olympics this year. Because, as you know, the Chinese authorities is famous for their crackdown on journalists.
I think we can criticize a lot to China, but we can not attack China fiercely.

Because China is still developing halfway now, you know, there are huge amount of domestic controversies in China. So, if Chinese authorities allowed freedom of the press, all the nations will fall into chaos.

We have to understand they need the time to give out information in bits and pieces. I don't know how long it takes. But as the proverb goes, "slow and sure wins the race" so it's important to be sure step by step. Otherwise they might go back to the old regime.

According to news reports, Dalai Lama have arrived in China for talks with representatives. But I guess eyes of the world think about like that: It can be just policy performance, there are still long winding road to have optimistic wishs.
