the problem of Tibet

Today's top news is the issue in Tibet.

BBC reported: "The authorities in Tibet have given anti-Chinese demonstrators until Monday to surrender, following violence that officials say left 10 people dead."

What is this background? China integrated Tibet into its territory in 1949 by overwhelming military force. After that, the 14th Dalai Lama was forced into exile in India, a huge number of citizens and Buddhist monks, who were regarded as rebel, were persecuted(dealt cruelly) by China-ruled government. By their nature, Tibetan army hadn't enough power because they are peaceful and merciful Buddhist, so the Tibetan government-in-exile, located in north India, suggested fighting against China by nonviolent means. Although China refused it, the chairman of government-in-exile as well as the 14th Dalai Lama asked China to settle the issues through dialogue again and again. In the meantime, millions of Chinese people moved to Tibet one after another. So... the situation have grown worse and worse. Finally their anger escalated into a riot.

How terrible it is that civilian cannot enjoy autonomy without military power!!! Why on earth did China deprive Tibet of autonomy? 　I know, i know, All Chine want is to deprive Tibet of mineral resources. Damn you!!! China know that there are large mineral deposit under the Tibetan Plateau. The deposit has an estimated value of $128 billion. So, if China didn't take control of Tibet, India or Pakistan might have done instead of China. But it's not a matter of which country deprive of the resources. The plateau is a sacred ground for Tibetan. Nobody can destroy their spirit as well as land. For mercy's sake, leave Tibet alone. China already have super-huge land, That's enough!!

I heard Tibetan exiles held demonstrations in several countries. But I don't know whether it was held in Japan or not. In my opinion, Japanese media had better pick up this issue to the top news. If public sentiment grows all over the world, China would bring it to a bloodless conclusion to holding the Olympic Games successfully.
